A woman can’t stop shaking. A man won’t stop dancing. A stranger is sure everything will be ok if only they can get it down on paper.

Combining original material from the Great Diary Project with texts old and new, Touching Distance creates a vivid collage of emotional worlds that asks: how do you feel?

A kaleidoscope of stories, dance, images and music collide to explore whether we can ever truly empathise with those around us.
